I am a white man.
And you don’t see my color before you see my face. You don’t judge me before you know me. You don’t fear me. You don’t secretly hope that I stay out of your neighbourhood.
What you do is worse. You give me better jobs, better pay, better treatment and a better chance, all because of the colour of my skin - and you don’t even know you’re doing it.
That’s unfair.
If you see racism, speak up.
Break the silence.I don’t judge you for your skin color, I judge you for your scraggly serial killer goatee.
What a bunch of bullshit. So people should treat white people worse? Also what the fuck is that tag line “its hard to see racism when you’re white” holy fuck that’s racist as hell. As if white people are somehow inherently more racist. Fucking progressive bullshit.
NAH, BRAH.
The point of this is to say, “Hey, we’ve got privilege that we really need to not only recognise, but deconstruct by helping PoC gain equality and allow them access to the same privileges we are afforded due to the colour of our skin.”
It doesn’t matter how many times yall repeat it- REVERSE RACISM IS NOT A THING. IT DOES NOT EXIST. PERIOD.
Girrrrrl. I told my students yesterday that you are a human being, not an object. So if you see something going down between two different people occupying two different positions on the social hierarchy and you don’t say something, YOU MY dear, have turned YOURSELF into an object. Human beings have a will to act, whether or not they choose to is another ‘nother damn question gina.
